Let us answer some questions many customers have about us before they call us for tree services. We are ready to help you in any way we can, with all of your tree trimming and removal needs.
Can you give me a quote over the phone?
Unfortunately, no, there are too many variables. Just a few examples of these variables - how close the tree is to any structures or other trees that we don’t want to damage, can it be done with a bucket truck or do we need to send a climber up, if we have to piece it down so not to damage sprinklers, septic systems or landscaping. There are numerous factors and estimates are free, so there is no need to even attempt at guessing.
Are you licensed?
MI does not require tree trimmers to be licensed, unfortunately. We have called our congressman, pushing for such though. Hopefully, soon, anyone claiming they can remove a tree from your property, will be properly trained and experienced.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, we carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance, so when we are on a customer’s property, they are covered in case one of our employees is injured or there is property damage.
What if I get a tree service that is not insured?
You are liable for anyone injured and any property damage. You can hope that the service you hired pays for any damages, but if they cannot carry insurance, they most likely cannot cover any damages or injuries. And many are under the assumption that their homeowners will cover them and this is, in most cases false, unless you purchase a special rider.
Do you take trees down for the firewood?
No, we do not.
Do you buy trees for the lumber?
No, you will need to contact a timber company for such services.
Do you transplant / move trees?
No, we don’t offer those services.
Do I need to be there to get a FREE estimate or when you do the work?
No, approximately, 75% of customers are not home when we look at their job or when we complete it.
Do you give the chips away?
Yes, if you are in an area where we work and you want us to dump chips, we will do so.
Can you leave the grindings from the stump in the hole?
It’s not recommended. Grass does not like to grow over grindings. We clean them out of the hole, so you can fill it with soil unless you request otherwise.
Will you leave the wood cut up?
Yes, we can leave it; however, you would like, or if you prefer, we will take it away, for an added fee.
Do you charge to take the wood, can’t you sell it, and it would make nice lumber?
Yes, we do charge to take the wood. It costs us labor and the use of our equipment to do so, which keeps us from moving on to the next customer and selling it for the lumber does not offset the costs. Some customers ask us to leave the main trunk and they take it for milling.
